Winter daffodils?

Here are the first blooms of winter? It's the first time I've seen my bulbs bloom since I planted them, so I'm happy for that reason but wish the ground had a little more moisture so it didn't dry out so quickly. I miss taking these kinds of photos, can't wait til my tulips bloom, they're pink!
Sugar likes the new bird feeding station we created in the back yard, she's all camouflaged in front of the rock in the photo below,...looking up at the feeder. Usually when I pull out my camera, she runs & won't look at me especially if I follow her around, trying to get a nice photo. I was a little bit lucky yesterday & caught her being herself for a few minutes. As you can see with photos below, I was rewarded with a few shots as she got all cute for the camera. Not the best time of day with all the shadows but I'll take what I can get.
Do you see what we're up against in doing yard work, lots of scrubbies to cut but well worth the scratches & fighting for the heating pad, to see our amazing sunset views.
(Like this sunset taken earlier this month, when we were cutting & burning some of that awful scrubby.) This sunset is nothing compared to some of them I've actually seen without having my camera. This is an amazing piece of property, it may not be ideal for some people but we feel very lucky & see the bigger picture 10-20 years from now (Yep, it's a true labor of love).
Jon can't get over how sweet & spoiled Sugar is. For a man that's never been a cat person, she's sure changed his mind. Funny how that happens when you least expect it. As soon as I can get Shadow to hold still again, I'll get some of her hanging out in her favorite spot in the yard....on a stump in the front yard, next to another bird feeder, lol, it's so cute. Silly girls!!I don't think Sugar could catch a cold but can't blame them for trying.

Baby Nellie - Redding Newborn Photographer

Introducing Nellie, what a sweet, adorable baby girl! I wish the sun made more of an appearance this morning but I'm happy for what I get so I'm really not complaining...really. I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves, Enjoy!!
I LOVED this blanket, the rose pattern was so pretty & dainty like Nellie.
What a nice family, I was having so much fun, they nearly had to kick me out. I stayed later than I had anticipated & have come to realize that I need to wear my phone on me so I can keep better track of time & not let that happen again :) I hope to see them again in about 6 months, wink wink.

I heart these eyes!

These eyes are the reason I volunteer at a local Elementary school. I try not to have favorites when it comes to the kids but there comes a time when someone just touches your heart the first time you see them & that happened when I met this little turkey. Even though her beautiful eyes aren't the same color & age as mine, I seen a little of myself in her, so I kinda took it personally when I seen them crying with frustration on that first day. Nobody was going to cry on my watch except for maybe myself. I did just that later that night & decided to go in & try to make a difference like I would have wished someone else had done for me (and to make up for not being able to do it when my kids were that age) & I've been suckered in ever since, making it to the class at least 2 days a week helping them with art, reading & writing. I had a different reason for going to the school those first few days (to take simply take photos) but things are meant for a reason & it became bigger for me than just that moment.
I love taking these photos of the kids for their parents & I think her eyes sparkle beautifully now, her mom is going to love this Valentines Day photo. Yep, I heart these beautiful little eyes!

Matson Vineyards - Redding Photography

Here are a few photos from Matson Vineyards last weekend during the Quarterly Club Event (for club members).
I love this place & found a new wine I like named "Tango", Mmmmm. If you haven't tried this place out yet, you don't know what you're missing.
